by Averie doesn’t get a lot of experiences anymore. Things, yes. She’s certainly does get those, But rarely do we go places as a family or does she get to spend time 1:1 with us, nevermind get special treatment.
today I decided to brave sticking both of the kids in the car and we made the trek in to town to get them both haircuts that they desperately needed.
I surprised Averie when we got there by not only letting her pick the cut all by herself, but also letting her use a gift I had to get some color. My only stipulation was the color had to be “hideable” (aka You can’t have a mermaid colored head), and I wasn’t letting her bleach her hair to color it. She could do whatever she wanted otherwise.
So – here’s the cut and color she picked. AJ was with us, but it was so nice to have an afternoon treat for her. Plus we got to all go to dinner as a family when Aaron got off work and even went and picked up her new school shoes since it was tax free day.
Now here’s to hoping her hair doesn’t turn my couch purple
