Travelling on a Blended Diet

While AJ sleeps peacefully we get to do the food prep and packing for tomorrow’s big trip. We thought for a moment that his new blood clot was going to throw everything off so procrastinated getting ready to go. Green lights are on all around so it’s going to be a busy couple of hours at our house as we get everything packed up to go!

For those curious: jasmine rice, millet, Salmon, ginger taragon chicken, kiwi, papaya, strawberries, red potatoes, sweet potatoes, millet/chia bread, sesame seeds, chia seeds, powdered pomegranate, roast carrots and celery, kale, green beans, coconut milk, walnut oil, olive oil, flax oil, blackstrap molasses, dha, multivitamins and coconut milk are what’s in AJs most recent meals… plus coconut water in between. It’s a darn good thing he’s cute!

Typically at home we blend 1-2 days worth of food at a time and keep the pre-cooked ingredients in the freezer. For travel we are blending the food in advance, storing it in breastmilk bags, and packing it with dry ice. This way we don’t have to take a blender with us on the trip.

Here’s hoping for an uneventful drive and a good outcome from our visit!
