Phone Calls Feel Scary (but this time it wasn’t!)

Last night, we slept. Everything was pretty uneventful at the hospital, so Aaron walked me back so at 11, and then he came back to wake me at 2, then we all crashed and slept. We got out of bed this morning around 9:30 am when the hospital called. Even though one of the first things they say is “everything is fine”, they still have to say who they are and confirm they have the right phone number before they can say that and your heart just sinks.

But – they were calling to talk is through the procedure to close up AJs chest and to make sure that we would be at the hospital tomorrow, because that’s when they were wanting to get it done. Ultimately it was a good phone call!

Aaron got up and got breakfast and went to the hospital, Lasairiona and I lounged around and joined him in the late afternoon.

AJ looks better today than yesterday, his color is back to pink and he’s finally starting to pee more and drop fluids, and the EEG machine was taken off today. Now it’s a balancing act between all of his different meds to keep him in a stable place!

Aside from that, Aaron and I got to Skype with Averie tonight. She showed us that she got a stuffed Ellie just like her little brother and told us she misses him a lot. She was excited to learn that Daddy would be home soon too. She’s enjoyed her time with Nana and Grandma, but she said she misses her daddy and mommy. ❤️

So – long story short, hopefully AJ will have his chest closed up tomorrow as long as he continues to “behave” overnight! Please keep praying – this is such a long hard road that we can use all the extra help we can get!!!
