by Well, it wasn’t our normal Fourth of July celebration, but we still made the best of it!
Aaron and I have taken turns feeling under the weather over the last 24 hours, so we opted to stay home today and relax. The kids got some outside time and enjoyed splashing around, and we drove to Belle Plaine to see the fireworks. We were prepared for AJ to hate them, but he didn’t even pout – just pointed at them and signed “lights”, “beautiful” and the names of the colors.
Averie took the change to our routine in stride. Tomorrow will be spent packing up for her week away at camp. Usually I’m excited for the quiet time and chance to clean up the house, but for a change her room is (mostly) clean and she’s been incredibly helpful and kind lately, so I’m a little sad she’s going this year, but I know she will have fun!
